Linguistic Localization

Linguistic Localization Process

In order to achieve a high-quality translation—and by high-quality we mean a translation that expresses the same meaning and nuances of the original language text—Aguará Global follows a strict protocol consisting of a series of six well-defined steps carried out by a number of professionals, our localization team:

File Preparation

One of our project managers receives and analyzes the source (S) file you need translated, together with any existing reference (R) material, glossaries (G), and translation memories (TM).

If necessary, and to ensure maximum consistency and accuracy, a glossary (G) can also be created here.

Translation

Our linguists, specialized in the specific subject of your file, translate the contents of the source (S) into the desired languages using the latest CAT tools and any reference (R) material and glossaries (G) available. During this stage the target or translation (T) file is generated.

QC (Quality Control)

The project manager runs the automated QC process through which our customized software checks the translation (T) against the source (S) any available glossaries (G) to ensure the correct use of terminology. The QC software also checks for spelling, double spaces, capitalization, missed punctuation, double words, untranslated segments and many other aspects of quality. The QC software generates a report which is sent back to the translator who, in turn, amends the translation (T).

Editing

Our editors receive the translation (T) and compare it sentence by sentence against the original source (S) file, checking for grammar, punctuation, style, flow and readability. Any corrections made are communicated to the proofreaders for approval and implementation.

Proofreading

Our proofreaders read the translated (T) file from the target audience's point of view while checking once again for grammar, punctuation, style, flow and readability. Any necessary corrections or final rewordings are incorporated at this stage.

Delivery

Our project manager receives the translated, edited and proofread target (T) file and delivers it to you.

At Aguará Global we understand how complex and, at times, mind-boggling the above process and concepts can be. And you may even be asking yourself: "And now what do I do?... all I know is that I need this file translated!" Don't worry, that's why we are here.

Contact our localization team now, tell us what you need, and let us worry about the rest!
